The bulb is home to a vast array of urban art including mural, stencil, graffiti, sculpture and installation art. The bulb is also popular among dog walkers and teenagers alike. The homeless community have also come together to call this place home. A documentary titled "Bum's Paradise" was released in 2003.
The bulb is on the west end of a landfill peninsula just west from the east shore of San Francisco bay. It is a former landfill primarily owned by the City of Albany.
