King Lake State Forest Campground is a moderately unknown but fantastic rustic campground in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. If you need a place to camp, this is the place to be! Campsites are first come, first served and cost $13.00 per night. All vehicles are required to have a Michigan Recreation Passport on their license plate. The little 'P' that costs extra to get you into parks and campsites for free. Campground includes boat loading dock, two outhouses and a water spout that requires a lot of pumping to use.
Heading West from Marquette, travel for about an hour until you reach King Lake Road. The road is just past Nestoria and partially hidden. You will travel down this road for about a half hour until you reach the campsite. Select an open campsite, pay your dues and set up camp! Respect thy neighbor, if you have any, and enjoy your stay!
