Preikestolen or Preachers Pulpit is one of the most visited and famous natural tourist attractions in Norway. The cliff rises just over 600 metres and is opposite of Kjerag plateau. The cliff was formed during the ice age, approximately 10,000 years ago. Access to the plateau has been much improved upon due to it increase in popularity.
You have to take a 45 minute ferry ride from Stavanger to Tau. Upon arrival at Tau, take route 13 towards Sandnes and follow the brown signs that lead to the Preikestolen parking area. It is about an hour and a half walk from the parking lot to the path up to Preikestolen. Prepare for a nice little hike as you',ll be walking up towards the sky!
